Aaron McFarland, Founder
Aaron McFarland has over 20 years of experience in research, design and development of embedded systems, medical imaging, radio-pharmaceutical production and nuclear instrumentation. His career has been focused on small companies and startups translating ideas from the lab into commercially successful products. He has been fortunate to collaborate with and develop outstanding teams, witnessing the positive impact their products have on people's lives and health.
At Siemens Preclinical Solutions (formerly Concorde Microsystems Inc), Aaron was a design engineer in the R&D team responsible for the development of the MicroPET line scanners and data acquisition electronics used in Siemens Molecular Imaging PET, SPECT, CT, and PET-MRI tomographic scanners. After stepping away from Siemens, Aaron formed Gannon Systems LLC, working with clients on first-of-kind preclinical and clinical MR/PET systems, and neutron imaging tomography at Oak Ridge National Lab. Later at ABT Molecular Imaging, Aaron worked on turning the vision of ABT’s founder into reality with the development of highly-automated radio-chemistry synthesis and QC systems for production of PET radio-pharmaceuticals. Recently Aaron has worked with multiple small companies to transition National Lab tech transfer and SBIR funded technologies to commercial production.
Aaron is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS in Electrical Engineering and is an IEEE Senior Member. He holds multiple patents in medical imaging and radio-pharmaceutical production.
His focus continues to be on helping clients create first-of-kind products, working across multidisciplinary environments to interface hardware, software and mechanical design to meet design goals.
